WASA Nickel Embroidery Scissors with Knopf 3.5" - Abb. 30
A 3½" nickel-plated WASA embroidery scissor (Art. 593, Abb. 30).
The Knopf (literally "button" or "knob") is a small rounded bulb at the tip of one blade — a safety feature that prevents the blade from snagging threads or poking through fabric when working close to the surface. Especially useful for delicate needlework, appliqué, and any cutting close to finished fabric where a conventional pointed tip could damage surrounding stitches. Same Solingen forging and nickel finish as the plain Art. 593, just with the added safety tip at the end of one blade.
Hand-forged in Solingen, Germany by Waldmin & Saam, founded in 1907 by August Waldmin and Fritz Saam in the legendary "City of Blades." Each pair is hot-forged from carbon steel, tempered, hand-ground, plated, polished, and individually tested for cutting quality — over 80 individual steps from raw steel to finished scissor. Many WASA designs have been in continuous production for more than a century, with the same patterns and the same craftsmanship passed down from father to son through four generations of the family.
