WASA Nickel Stork Scissors 4" - Abb. 14
A 4" nickel-plated WASA stork scissor (Art. 179, Abb. 14).
The stork scissor — Storchenschere — is one of the most iconic and enduring needlework scissor designs, with the long slender beak-shaped blades that reach into tight spaces and the figural stork silhouette that has become synonymous with fine sewing and embroidery tradition. The 4" length is the practical working size, longer than the 3½" collector model but shorter than the 6½" display piece. Nickel-plated for stitchers who prefer silver-toned tools to match their needles and thimbles.
The nickel-plated version of the 4" Art. 179 stork scissor. The matching gold-plated 4" Art. 179 is also part of the WASA Solingen line.
Hand-forged in Solingen, Germany by Waldmin & Saam, founded in 1907 by August Waldmin and Fritz Saam in the legendary "City of Blades." Each pair is hot-forged from carbon steel, tempered, hand-ground, plated, polished, and individually tested for cutting quality — over 80 individual steps from raw steel to finished scissor. Many WASA designs have been in continuous production for more than a century, with the same patterns and the same craftsmanship passed down from father to son through four generations of the family.
