WASA Nickel Thread Nipper Curved 4.5" - Abb. 46
A 4½" nickel-plated WASA one-hand weaver scissor (Art. 1981.1/2, Abb. 46) with curved blades.
The curved-blade (gebogen) variant of the Art. 1981 weaver's nipper. The bent tip allows the blade to reach the fabric surface from an angle that keeps your hand out of the line of sight — particularly useful for clipping jump threads on the back of machine embroidery, snipping at awkward angles around a hoop, or any application where the straight nipper would block your view of the cut.
Hand-forged in Solingen, Germany by Waldmin & Saam, founded in 1907 by August Waldmin and Fritz Saam in the legendary "City of Blades." Each pair is hot-forged from carbon steel, tempered, hand-ground, plated, polished, and individually tested for cutting quality — over 80 individual steps from raw steel to finished scissor. Many WASA designs have been in continuous production for more than a century, with the same patterns and the same craftsmanship passed down from father to son through four generations of the family.
