WASA Nickel Thread Nipper Straight 4.5" - Abb. 46
A 4½" nickel-plated WASA one-hand weaver scissor (Art. 1981, Abb. 46) with straight blades.
The Einhandweberschere — literally "one-hand weaver scissor" — is a traditional German thread nipper operated with a single hand-squeeze rather than finger rings. Spring-action returns the blades to the open position automatically between cuts, allowing rapid repeated snipping at the embroidery frame, sewing machine, or weaving loom. The straight blade is the standard configuration for most stitching applications.
Hand-forged in Solingen, Germany by Waldmin & Saam, founded in 1907 by August Waldmin and Fritz Saam in the legendary "City of Blades." Each pair is hot-forged from carbon steel, tempered, hand-ground, plated, polished, and individually tested for cutting quality — over 80 individual steps from raw steel to finished scissor. Many WASA designs have been in continuous production for more than a century, with the same patterns and the same craftsmanship passed down from father to son through four generations of the family.
