Gray formerly Confederate Gray is color 1173 in the Weeks Dye Works hand over-dyed floss line, a six strand cotton thread with the gentle shifts in tone that overdyeing produces.
Fiber: 100% Egyptian cotton, six strand.
Put-up: One 5 yard skein in a single continuous length, not pre-cut.
Finish: Colorfast. Made in the USA.
It suits counted cross stitch across a wide range of fabric counts, and also handles needlepoint, surface embroidery, and penny rug work. Strip and recombine the strands so the floss lies smoothly in the needle. Hand dyeing means no two lots match exactly. For larger projects, pick up all the skeins you need in one go.
