This is Dahlia, color 2293 in the Weeks Dye Works overdyed floss line. Hand dyeing gives the thread a depth that flat commercial floss does not carry.
Fiber: 100% Egyptian cotton, six strands.
Yardage: 5 yards per skein in one continuous length.
Finish: Colorfast, hand dyed in North Carolina.
The floss is pliable enough for counted cross stitch over one or two threads, and it works equally well for needlepoint, surface embroidery, punch needle, and wool applique. Strip the strands before stitching and use as many as the coverage calls for. Every batch is dyed by hand, so skeins from different lots will not match precisely. Plan the quantity for the whole piece up front.
