Few objects in the world of needlework carry the romantic history of the stork scissor. The legend of the stork delivering newborns took hold in the Alsace region of France in the 1850s, where the bird was already deeply woven into local imagery. It was in those early years of the twentieth century that scissor-makers first began crafting blades in the stork's graceful form — and the design has enchanted embroiderers ever since.
This smaller model, at just 3.5 inches (8.89cm), is a particular rarity. Stork scissors are far more commonly found in the larger 4.5-inch size, making this petite gilded pair all the more special. Every detail of the bird's plumage is rendered with care on the exterior of the blades, and the Sajou mark is discreetly placed at the pivot point on the interior — so as not to disturb a single feather. A small Sajou ribbon graces one handle; colour may vary.
Presented in a foldable Sajou cardboard sleeve. Motif may vary. The sleeve is reusable — remove the label from the back with care.
